We are super proud to be launching the UK’s first ever specialist Vintage Poster Market next month in Peckham! Come find us from 14-16 May at the Copeland Gallery, SE15 London.
It’s been a bit of a whirlwind backstage at Projekt 26 over the last month but we’re so delighted to share why with you!
When the end of lockdown was confirmed, an opportunity came up to hire the Copeland Gallery for a pop-up shop and we just couldn’t resist hanging our posters on the walls of such a beautiful space... and in one of our favourite locations. It turns out that the Copeland Gallery gang are big fans of Polish posters and Peter (as we now know him) - the in-house graphic designer for Copeland Park/Bussey Building - has Polish parents so he was especially excited. We love it so much when this happens!
The only thing was that 4000+ square foot was a little bigger than we’d envisaged just for us (though actually we’d LOVE nothing more than to put on our own gallery exhibition/event and it is definitely on the cards). So straight away we thought… what better way to celebrate some new found freedom and the joy of vintage posters than to share the space with fellow vintage poster dealers.
Honestly, we didn’t know who’d be up for it, but we were so thrilled when everybody we contacted came back enthusiastic about the idea. (Ok, apart from one man who gave us a bit of a fright as he thought we were breaking Covid rules and would be arrested!).
So here we are… now organising what we’re pretty sure is the first ever event of its kind - featuring some truly brilliant fellow dealers - and getting written about in the Weekend Guardian!
Here’s a little taste of some of our latest posters to wet your whistles!
