Andrzej Krajewski, legend from the Polish School of Posters, created this glorious original Polish film poster in 1971. ,Harem Pana Voka’ is such a joyful poster design, bursting with exuberant charm. It’s becoming increasingly hard to find unfortunately, so this is a keeper:)

Polish A1 size: 57.5 x 82 cm

Condition: please note that there are little tears which have been repaired with archival tape around the edges. There is also a little section missing at the top. It will be possible to either conceal this during framing or to lay the poster on black which will also minimise its visibility.

Andrzej Krajewski

One of our all time favourite artists. In the words of his sons '“Andrzej Krajewski was a “larger-than-life figure — a dashing bon-vivant, fount of idiosyncratic outsider wisdom, creative genius, and passionately devoted parent, grandparent and husband. A noted innovator of the Polish School of Posters, Andrzej expressed his bold creative vision in a vast array of media, including paintings, drawings, collage, comics and prose over a 65+ year career spanning several continents and countless mediums of expression”. His first marriage was in 1963 to the equally awesome Maria (Mucha) Ihnatowicz. They had one daughter and during that time they sometimes worked on projects together. Krajewski loved the American culture. He proudly said himself he was the first guy in Poland to be sporting cowboy boots. He moved to just outside New York in the 1980s, where he lived very happily - still working, still entertaining - with his second wife and two sons until he sadly passed away in 2018.

BUYING A VINTAGE POSTER

All of our vintage Polish posters are lovingly sourced from Poland and were the original editions commissioned by the Communist State to promote cultural events. Polish posters were printed in strictly limited runs to be displayed in town centres, theatres and cinemas - so any which survive have been lovingly rescued along the way.

For us, nothing comes close to the soulful charm of vintage Polish posters; the colours, the offset lithography, the matt paper. But please note, due to their age, many do bear marks of time.

We always do our best to describe any flaws, but if you have any questions at all about this vintage poster then get in touch and we’ll be happy to send you more info.
