Mlodozeniec, Jan | 1975 | Circus Troupe
This is such a beautiful bright example of Jan Mlodozeniec’s illustrative style. He designed it in 1975 for the Polish State Circus. There is often, behind the joyful facade of Polish posters, much symbolism and meaning. It looks to us as if the lion’s face is the shape of Poland, and the Communist clowns are trying to tame her (but they never will!).
