Kiwerski, Ryszard | 1971 | Three Into Two Won't Go

£200.00

Ryszard Kiwerski was an incredible artist from The Polish School of Posters. Like so many of the other artists Kiwerski fought passionately for freedom of expression and against censorship. He didn't like to conform and was a whirlwind of original thinking, creativity and energy until the end of his life.

Kiwerski often used photomontage in his poster designs, and this one is very striking against its shocking pink background. He designed this poster, which was printed in 1971, for the 1969 British film ‘Three Into Two Won’t Go’ (Nie Mozna Zyc We Troje) - directed by Peter Hall and starring Rod Steiger, Claire Bloom and Judy Geeson.

BUYING A VINTAGE POSTER

All of our vintage Polish posters are lovingly sourced from Poland and were the original editions commissioned by the Communist State to promote cultural events. Polish posters were printed in strictly limited runs to be displayed in town centres, theatres and cinemas - so any which survive have been lovingly rescued along the way.

For us, nothing comes close to the soulful charm of vintage Polish posters; the colours, the offset lithography, the matt paper. But please note, due to their age, many do bear marks of time.

We always do our best to describe any flaws, but if you have any questions at all about this vintage poster then get in touch and we’ll be happy to send you more info.
