Treutler, Jerzy | 1968 | House and Host

£180.00

Jerzy Treutler graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in 1955, having studied alongside Hubert Hilscher - who he remained great friends with. This beautiful original 1968 Polish poster ‘Dom i Gospodarz’ (House and Host) is one of around 150 poster designs by Treutler, who also designed over a dozen book covers, and the famous ‘swallow’ Polish Fashion logo.

Polish A1 size: 52.5 x 78 cm

Condition: please note there is a little piece missing from the bottom right corner. There is a very tiny stain in the grey flower carving and a very thin strip of discolouration (possibly from the original printing process) on the left hand edge. Overall the poster is super charming and the colours look incredible, but please make sure you’re happy to accept its little flaws.

BUYING A VINTAGE POSTER

All of our vintage Polish posters are lovingly sourced from Poland and were the original editions commissioned by the Communist State to promote cultural events. Polish posters were printed in strictly limited runs to be displayed in town centres, theatres and cinemas - so any which survive have been lovingly rescued along the way.

For us, nothing comes close to the soulful charm of vintage Polish posters; the colours, the offset lithography, the matt paper. But please note, due to their age, many do bear marks of time.

We always do our best to describe any flaws, but if you have any questions at all about this vintage poster then get in touch and we’ll be happy to send you more info.
